Body Code and medicine: how they differ and how they fit together

Two different languages

Medicine asks about symptom, cause and evidence. It has diagnostic tools, procedures and clinical trials. Diagnosis and treatment belong to it.

The Body Code, developed by Dr Bradley Nelson (Discover Healing), asks a different question: where the tension sits in your experience and what it connects to. It is an ordered map of questions asked during a session, not a system for identifying illness.

The two do not compete, because they are not answering the same question.

The six areas in Nelson's model

Nelson organises the session's questions into six areas:

  • energies — including trapped emotions as the Emotion Code describes them
  • circuits and organs
  • toxicity
  • pathogens
  • structure — bones, muscles, tissue
  • nutrition and lifestyle

These names describe the questions I ask in a session. They are not diagnoses, they do not come from any test, and they say nothing about what is happening in your body. If something worries you, that belongs with a doctor.

Where they fit together

Diagnosis, medication and procedures stay on the medical side. A session can run alongside and deal with what people are usually left holding on their own: tension before an appointment, anger at their own body, fear of a relapse, the belief that nothing will help anyway.

Many people describe finding it easier to stick with what they've been advised, and calmer while waiting for results. Those are descriptions of experience, not a promised outcome.

What a session does not do

It does not diagnose. It does not replace testing, treatment or psychotherapy. It never changes or stops medication — that decision belongs to your doctor alone. It does not promise a result.

A Body Code session takes about 45–60 minutes and can be held online, by phone, in person in Gdańsk, or by proxy with your consent.
