Common questions about sessions
These are the questions I hear most often before a first session. If yours is not here, write to me or ask it during the free 15-minute call.
The answers apply to all the methods I work with: the Emotion Code, the Body Code, the Belief Code and PSYCH-K®. Questions about one method are on its own page: Emotion Code, Body Code, Belief Code, PSYCH-K®. A remote session is described step by step under online sessions, and prices under pricing.
Common questions
Does an online session work the same as meeting in person?
I work online over Google Meet, by phone, in person in Gdańsk, and also by proxy, without you present. A proxy session always happens with your explicit consent and on a topic we agree in advance. In that case I do the muscle testing on myself on your behalf. Afterwards you receive a written summary: what I worked on, which emotions were released in the terms the Emotion Code uses, and what to keep an eye on over the following days. Many people choose this because it needs no shared time slot. If you would rather be there, we simply book a call.
How does a proxy session work?
It is a session you do not have to attend. It starts with your consent, given in a message or in writing, and without it I do not work. Then, at the agreed time, I test on myself on your behalf, exactly as I would during a live call, and I work with whatever shows up. Afterwards you get an emailed summary: the list of released emotions and a short note on what to watch for over the next few days. Sessions for children run the same way, with the parent giving consent and choosing the topic. You can ask questions afterwards by message or on a short call.
How many sessions do I need?
There is no fixed number. Many people notice a shift after the first session: sometimes calmer sleep, sometimes a smaller reaction to a situation that used to set them off straight away. How many meetings make sense depends on the topic. One specific matter is often a session or two, while something that has been running for years, like a Heart Wall, goes in layers across several sessions. After the first session I tell you plainly what I see and suggest a plan: how many meetings, how far apart, and what would tell you it is worth pausing. The decision is always yours and you can change it at any point.
How will I feel after a session?
It varies, and both versions are normal. Some people describe lightness, calm, or a sense that the topic got smaller. Others feel tired, sleepy or unexpectedly emotional for a day or two, with feelings coming in waves. That is usually a sign the body is sorting the topic out rather than a sign something went wrong. I call that window integration and it most often lasts 24 to 48 hours. For that time I ask for simple things: drink more water, do not pack your evening, let yourself sleep early. If anything worries you, write to me and I will tell you what I would do next.
Do I have to talk about difficult events?
No. A topic in one sentence is enough, for example something blocks me in relationships, or tension before meetings at work. I do not need the course of events, dates or names, and often I do not even need you to name the thing directly. I work with the state of the body here and now rather than with replaying the story, and going back into detail can put the body straight back into the same tension. If you want to talk, I will listen, but that is your choice and not a condition of the session. You can say a subject is off limits at any point and that is enough.
Are the sessions safe? Will I feel anything afterwards?
The work I do is non-invasive: no touch beyond muscle testing, no substances, no equipment. That does not mean you will feel nothing. For a day or two afterwards some people are more tired, sleepier or more emotional, and some sleep differently than usual. This is a normal part of integration — drink more water and keep the evening undemanding. If you are in crisis or under psychiatric care, please tell me during the free call. A session does not replace medical care or psychotherapy.
How do I prepare for a session?
You need very little. Find a place where nobody will call you for an hour, pour a glass of water and sit somewhere comfortable. If we meet online, headphones help and it is worth testing your connection beforehand. Think about your topic and try to fit it into one sentence, along the lines of I want to work on the tension before meetings, or something keeps repeating in my relationships. Do not prepare a story or a list of events, because you will not need it. If the topic turns out to be a different one by the time we start, that is fine too. We begin with whatever is there on the day.
Can different methods be combined in one session?
Yes, and I often do. In a single meeting we might start with the Emotion Code to release trapped emotions as that method describes them, then move to PSYCH-K® and work with the belief sitting underneath. The Body Code and the Belief Code add further questions; all three Codes come from Dr Bradley Nelson's model. What we use is decided at the start of the session, based on what you bring. A combined session runs longer than a single one, and I tell you that before we book so the time and the price are clear.
How is this work different from psychotherapy?
They are two different things, and energy work does not replace psychotherapy. Psychotherapy is a process led by a trained professional, built on conversation, relationship and understanding what is going on with you, with its own methods and standards. An Emotion Code session is shorter, narrower and works on one specific topic; I do not diagnose and I do not run a psychotherapeutic process. The two can run side by side, and many people do exactly that. If you are working with a psychotherapist, you are welcome to tell them you also come to sessions. It usually makes the conversation easier, though the choice is yours.
Is this for me if I am sceptical?
Yes. You do not have to believe in anything to come to a session. I do not ask for belief and I do not check your attitude. Scepticism is reasonable in a field where big words come easily. What I can do is describe plainly what happens: what I do, why, what muscle testing is, what this work does not do and what not to expect from it. You judge the rest yourself, by what you notice in the days that follow. Plenty of people come the first time in a wait and see frame of mind, and that is a good place to start.
Do you work with children?
Yes, always with a parent's consent and involvement. There are two forms. With younger children I work by proxy through the parent: the parent is present, and I do the muscle testing on myself or on the parent on the child's behalf. An older child can be present in the session if they want to be — I never push for it. Whether a session happens, and when, is the parent's decision. I promise no results, and this does not replace paediatric care, psychological support or help at school. If something worries you, a specialist comes first.
What do people usually bring to a session?
Most often I hear: I feel stuck, I react more strongly than I want to, the same pattern keeps repeating at work or in my relationships. Money, self-worth, nerves before speaking in public and difficult goodbyes come up too. I work with emotions and beliefs, not with illnesses or symptoms. I don't diagnose and I don't treat. If what you bring is medical or psychological, I will say so plainly and point you towards the right kind of help. The simplest way to check the fit is a free 15-minute call.
How and when do I pay?
Payment comes before the session, by bank transfer or BLIK. I send the payment details together with the confirmation of your slot, so there is nothing to look up. The free fifteen minute intro call costs nothing and needs no payment up front. If you need an invoice, say so when you book and I will issue it after the session. You can cancel or move a booking with no consequences as long as you let me know at least 24 hours ahead. We then agree a new time or I refund what you paid. Ask about three-session packages during the free intro call.
