The Heart Wall in the Emotion Code
The Heart Wall is a term from dr Bradley Nelson's Emotion Code: a layer of trapped emotions that, in this model, gathers around the heart during hard periods and stays long after it stopped being needed. I work with it over two to four sessions at 222 zł each, online or in person in Gdańsk. It is worth looking at if you feel distant in close relationships, find affection hard to take in, or sense that something in you is closed off without being able to point to one event.
What the Heart Wall is
In the Emotion Code, trapped emotions, meaning the energetic residue of experiences that were never fully processed, do not spread evenly through the body. Some of them collect around the heart. Nelson describes this as a wall built layer by layer: after a loss, after a separation, after years of caring for someone, after a stretch of life when you had to be strong and there was nobody to hand it to.
The wall forms as protection and for a while it makes sense. The trouble comes later, when the situation has passed and the protection has stayed. In the model, the wall does not only keep out pain. It also keeps out closeness, joy and contact with your own needs.
This is not a medical term and it does not describe the state of an organ. It is a way of naming something many people already feel, that the heart is somehow behind glass. As a certified Discover Healing practitioner I work with it inside the method, never in place of medical care.
What a session looks like
- A short conversation. You say what you are bringing and what you would like to be different. One or two sentences are enough.
- Muscle testing. In person in Gdańsk I test on your arm. Online I use proxy testing, which means that with your consent I test on myself on your behalf. This is where I check whether a Heart Wall is present and how many layers it has.
- Identification. Layer by layer I establish which emotion forms it, roughly what period it comes from, and whether it is yours or inherited.
- Release. I draw a magnet along the governing meridian, which runs up the middle of the back and over the head, doing this by proxy in an online session. You sit and breathe.
- A short integration talk. I check how you are feeling and tell you how many layers remain.
Afterwards you receive a written summary by email or WhatsApp, a list of the emotions released with their context. The next session is usually one or two weeks later. Spreading the work out has a purpose: the wall comes off in layers, and the nervous system needs time to get used to the new arrangement.
For 24 to 48 hours there is a gentle integration period. Some people feel tired, sleepy or more emotional than usual, others notice nothing in particular. Both are normal.
What people bring to this work
- distance in close relationships, difficulty accepting affection
- grief and longing, including from many years ago
- repeating patterns in relationships
- feeling stuck and out of touch with yourself
- tension and overload after a long stretch of caring for someone
- getting ready for a change: a separation, a move, a new chapter
- low confidence and difficulty asking for what you need
These are themes people bring, not a promise of outcome. The basics of the method are on the Emotion Code page.
Online or in Gdańsk
Both work the same way. Online we meet on Google Meet, or, if you prefer, I run the session by proxy with no call at all and send you the summary. In person I work in Gdańsk by arrangement. The remote format is described step by step on the online sessions page.
Price
Each Heart Wall session costs 222 zł and lasts about 45 to 60 minutes. A series is usually two to four sessions, booked one at a time. The first step is a free 15 minute call in which we check whether this is the right route for you. Details are on the pricing page.
Common questions
How do I know whether I have a Heart Wall?
I check with muscle testing at the start of the work and tell you plainly what comes up. In the Emotion Code model most adults have one, because it forms in ordinary hard moments rather than only after dramatic events. If the testing shows there is none, we simply work with individual trapped emotions and you do not need a series.
How many sessions does Heart Wall work take?
Usually two to four. The wall is made of layers and the method takes them off gradually, which gives your nervous system time to settle. After each session you get a list of what was released, so you know how many layers are left. A gap of one or two weeks between sessions works best.
Do I have to talk about what happened?
No. The method works with the body's responses, not with the story, so you say only as much as you want to. A memory or an image sometimes surfaces during a session, but you do not need to describe it or live through it again for that layer to be released. Many people value exactly that about this work.
What do people describe afterwards?
Many people describe a lightness in the chest, more ease in close relationships, and finding it simpler to be moved or to accept affection. Some have the opposite for a day or two: tiredness or tears. That is part of integration. I am describing what clients tell me, not promising what will happen for you.
Can Heart Wall work be combined with PSYCH-K®?
Yes, though in separate sessions. Most often we finish the Heart Wall series first and then use PSYCH-K® on a belief you want to change. We agree on the order during the free 15 minute call, depending on which feels more pressing for you at the time.
